It's been a long time since my last update. This year has been real busy for us and we thank the Lord for that.
So what have we been up to ?
Well since April of this year we have been traveling to Indiana helping a client with their data migration from their legacy system to their SAP HR system. This project was successfully completed with good reviews to Perfect Resources in the month of August 2011. In the month of September of this year we got an opportunity to work with ADP in supporting their clients and this project is still going on.
We have also updated our end user training on SAP HR Modules. We have added the following:
1. A presentation to each SAP HR module
2. More captions in each video
3. Voice in all videos
4. Quiz at the end of each video
5. Practice Lesson in documentation tab
We are now working on our consultant module, will provide an update soon.
Oh, I got a chance to take a small vacation with my family to Northern Outdoors in Maine, River Rafting. It was an amazing fun trip.

Data Comparison Tool
On my current project I got the opportunity to work on Accenture DCM tool. For those of you who have never heard of this tool must be asking, what is that ?
It's a data comparison tool, it helps in comparing your SAP data that was recently migrated against your legacy data. There are two sides to this tool. The left side and the right side. The left side is the SAP side and the right side is the legacy side. On the left side you select the SAP fields for a given infotype that you want to do a compare. On the right side you select the legacy fields that matches the SAP field an example would be PERNR in SAP will link to Employee Number in Legacy.
You can write rules using IF statement. When the comparison is done, you will see the results in comparison like SAP Personnel Area and Legacy Personnel Area. if the values are the same then you will get a pass in the far right column, if not you will get a fail.
Very helpful for payroll comparison.

Happy New Year
Few days more and the year 2010 will be history. Its been an absolute fantastic year for Perfect Resources. There are many things we have accomplished and we hope to bring more good stuff to the SAP HR community in the year 2011.

Welcome Rutgers University
Rutgers University has decided to try Perfect Resources online SAP HR training for their HRIS class 2010. Stephen Sequeira the CEO of Perfect Resources was invited to be the guest lecturer.
I had an absolute great time giving a presentation on the product the first time and the second time I was there, I gave a presentation on SAP HR overview. I received great questions from the students and there was a genuine interest in learning and understanding the SAP HR system.
We at Perfect Resources are proud to be associated with Rutgers University which is a well known and recognized university in the world. We hope to bring this learning solution to other universities and help their HRIS students to learn and understand the SAP HR system and thus prepare them for better job opportunities.

Display Object ID on Organization and Staffing screen
How to display the Object ID on the organization and staffing screen:
Most of the times users are familiar with the transaction PPOME or PPOSE. Now PPOME is used to maintain the organizational and staffing screen and PPOSE is used to display the organizational and staffing screen. In display you can't edit just view.
So now you are in the organizational and staffing screen and you select organization unit in the top left corner below Find by and you enter the organization unit id or name and search for the organization unit. You will see your results in the hit list column below. You select your organization unit and notice that just the organization unit name is displayed but not the ID. The 8 digit ID is missing, now how do you get that information.
Well its simple, roll your mouse on each of the icons just above your organization unit(below staff assignment) and reach to the last icon, called column configuration. Click on column configuration and check the box ID and the click on the green check.
You should now see the organization unit ID.

Why do Motorist keep honking in Bombay
Recently I had the privilege of visiting India for a family reunion and I was excited going to India. Our flight landed in Bombay around 11p.m. It was a long walk from the exit of the airplane to the immigration chanel. We got all our bags and proceeded to the exit of the airport and were looking forward to our vacation in India.
Our first experience was ear shattering, car honking, noise pollution everywhere. At Bombay Airport they made a nice parking lot. My cousin's car was parked on the second floor. We took the elevator and went to the second floor. As soon as we got out of the elevator, we could hear nothing except car honking. Its an enclosed parking lot and imagine every car honking one after another and the sound resonating within the building and piercing our ears. Its like where did we come and the question to my cousin was why are they honking. The answer I got was this is Bombay and get used to it.
What I saw was all cars lined up one after another and honking at each other. I took the trouble of going forward closing my ears and seeing what was the reason for this people honking. There was a car which was broken down and the poor guy was trying to push his car with someone's help and the people at the back with no clue as to what's happening were just enjoying the sound or getting the pleasure of honking at the other person.
If Bombay RTO wants to make some money, they should start slapping huge fines on people for honking, I promise they will be the richest non profit organization in the world. The people in Bombay are so used to honking, I guess even if there is no one in front of them they will honk coz they just like to hear the sound of honking....
